I have served in multiple capacities for subsidiary companies Marietta Daily Journal, Cherokee Tribune,

The Neighbor Newspapers, Cobb Life Magazine and Cherokee Life Magazine as a graphic designer,

layout and design specialist, support staff and oversight of the obituary section of the newspaper.

Graphic Design

• Create print ads and promotional material for publication for the Marietta Daily Journal, Cherokee Tribune,  
  The Neighbor Newspapers, Cobb Life Magazine and Cherokee Life Magazine

• Obtain artwork, images and text for advertisements and ensure printer specifications are met by deadlines

Layout and Design Specialist

• Work with writers and photographers to design Cobb Life and Cherokee Life lifestyle magazine pages

• Create, edit, and approve pages for final publication

• Communicate with offsite commercial printer for final publication

Copy Desk and Advertising Support

• Work with the advertising department and sales reps to ensure advertisement deadlines are met

• Create charts, maps and logos to be used by reporters and editors to enhance news stories

• Use Vision Data ad billing software to run reports of legal and classified advertising for publishing

• Create newspaper layouts based on the amount of retail advertisements sold per publication

• Work with editors and reporters to design newspaper pages

 

Obituary Publication Oversight

• Worked with VP of Advertising and Marketing to launch online application for obituary placement

• Support the online application as issues arise to ensure customer satisfaction for placement in over 10 different newspaper publications

• Place obituaries on newspaper pages for the Marietta Daily Journal and Cherokee Tribune
